Druva Data Resiliency Cloud

Workforce mobility and the rise of cloud services is an essential part of any business, but it creates a number of challenges for IT. Data spread across devices and cloud services, unpredictable schedules, and varied network connections all complicate efforts to protect and govern enterprise information.

The Druva Cloud Platform (formerly Druva inSync & Druva Phoenix) provides unified data protection, management, and information governance across endpoints and cloud applications. Delivered as-a-service, the Druva Cloud Platform aims to simplify backup, archival, compliance, and device management to reduce the cost and complexity of protecting end user data, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve data visibility. With centralized management and self-help data recovery, the vendor states that users' mobile workforces are protected without impacting productivity.

Druva's value proposition:

No hardware, no software

  • Delivered as-a-service means leaving behind on-premises infrastructure, hardware refresh cycles and time consuming software maintenance.

Infinitely scalable
  • Built in the cloud, new capacity can be added to subscriptions on the fly without changes to backup settings, and without needing to purchase and install new appliances or software.

No maintenance windows

  • Druva maintains the data protection solution, not the customer; the platform is always up-to-date with the latest features.

Data Protection That’s Different

  • Druva’s SaaS data protection platform boasts less cost and complexity found in solutions that aren’t built for the cloud, while remaining secure, scalable and always available.

We use Druva for offsite backups and data recovery. We switched from on Premise as our primary product and switched to Druva. We have had nothing but good things to say about it. It addressed our Disaster recovery and potential failure of onsite backups with a simple and easy way. We use it to back up Virtual machines along with physical with SQL Databases on them. It has been nothing but wonderful to use this product.
  • Ease of Use
  • Virtual Machine Backup
  • SQL Back up
  • Better SQL Interface
  • Less Downtime
  • Better Documentation
Druva is well suited if you have onsite backups and you need to move them offsite. The ease of use of the product makes it a simple product to use. It works all of the time and if there is an error the product informs you of the exact error with help links to fix it. If you have offsite backups already then it is not worth switching if you like what you have in place. I do feel that the interface and ease of use could make a compelling option to switch.

Druva is our backup solution for our VM Ware, File Servers, and 365. It resolves our ability to manage and restore data for our users as well as securing it in the cloud.
  • Automated and managing back-ups
  • 365 automation
  • Data cloud security
  • More information statistics in terms of usage
  • I would love a native dark mode theme
  • Some errors associated Druva doc isn't entirely revealing in terms of error troubleshooting
Druva is great for jumping into automated cloud backups for all your data needs. File servers, VMWare, and 365. Very user friendly and easy to learn.

We use Druva for our VMware VM Backups, SQL Database backup, and M365 Cloud backups. Our small team of two were overwhelmed with the complexity and time it took to manage backups and we needed a solution that could free up our time to do the other work we needed to get done. Druva provides the ability to automate our backups and has very good reliability and the support teams are outstanding.
  • Automated backups
  • Customer support
  • Simplified Dashboard
  • Simplified process
  • Bare metal server restores
Druva has simplified our backup process so that our small team of two has been able to manage all our backups with minimal effort. Insync has allowed us to backup our m365 instances with minimal intervention and provide easy restoration of files when needed. Druva support is amazing and very customer focused.

So we made the decision years ago that Tape just was not cutting it any longer and started looking into Cloud SaaS applications to protect our data and also give us a disaster recovery platform to work off of as well. We found Druva Data Resiliency Cloud and started to dive in on questions and weighing this service's features and what we were looking for. We decided to give this a shot and started using Druva Data Resiliency Cloud for all of our backups as our offsite backup solution. It checked all the boxes for us and was easy to use. We also created a disaster recovery plan based on moving our on prem servers to AWS and getting our applications up and running to continue business as usual. This worked well and was tested quarterly with success. Well back in 2021 we were hit with a ransomware attack that basically rendered all of our data and servers useless. So we began to recover our data within our disaster recovery plan and we were able to bring the company back up and online within 24hrs. All of our data was protected and able to be restored in whatever way we needed it to be restored. This product was a lifesaver for sure!
  • Backing up many different formats and types of data
  • Customer Service is always great and resolves issues quickly
  • easy to use console
  • ability to backup Azure resources (it does some but needs a wider spectrum)
  • flexibility in cloud storage sources like setting up DR in an azure instance instead of only AWS.
  • ability to delete data from their google workspace we have 97TB stuck and can't be deleted
So this product was a complete fit when we first implemented it. But a couple years ago we started moving services to Azure and changing the way our software works. Druva Data Resiliency Cloud works very well for and AWS based platform and backups but has been lagging in keeping up with the ability to backup Azure resources. Specifically Azure Sql databases, app services, storage account containers. Once they catch up to be able to connect and restore to Azure the same way they can with AWS it would fit perfectly. Druva Data Resiliency Cloud is our main source for backups but we had to implement a Veeam instance to help with our Azure data.

I am using Druva Data Resiliency Cloud solutions for our Microsoft 365 & Amazon AWS storage solutions. We use Druva Data Resiliency Cloud for storing all our users data and backup solution for Microsoft 365 environments such as Exchange, OneDrive, Shared Mailbox, Public Folder, SharePoint Online, etc. We are very much confident on restoring our user's data if any emergency happens. I'm very satisfied with the services they provide.
  • Druva Data Resiliency Cloud can stored data and restore them very effortlessly.
  • We restored user's mailbox to other user's exchange online and they can use it without any issue.
  • Configuring user's profile and mapping them with Azure Security Groups make things very easy.
  • User interface can be improved.
  • Sync time can be improved.
  • Restored options can be better with reversable option.
Easy to implement.
Retention policy can be manage by the admin very well.
Druva Data Resiliency Cloud make life easy for the administrator.

User interface can be little better.
Sync profile with new mapping group take tillite longer.
If Data lock or Data loss protection can be a reversible option.

I am using Druva Data Resiliency Cloud for m365 and Hyper-V Backups. We use this for all user profiles and all business or production critical servers. We can feel confident our data is backed up in case of an emergency.
  • Easy to implement
  • Good reporting on trends of data usage
  • User Interface can be tough to learn.
  • Clearing data used from old backups take time to reflect on the credit burn.
In my opinion, Druva Data Resiliency Cloud is well suited for our Hyper-V Environment. Also our m365 backups were easy to implement and run without issues after initial setup. The restore capabilities are flexible, they are able to restore to a separate Hyper-V server. We find the restores so easy to do that we have even used this to migrate certain machines over the native Hyper-V migration tools.

We use Druva to back up our entire Microsoft environment. This includes all business-critical information/documentation. One of the main problems we'd faced in the past was that some employees would accidentally delete or lose a file and we used to have no way of getting it back. Now that we have Druva, the daily snapshots of a user's Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint sites etc have been a lifesaver. We can easily locate the user's profile from within Druva, select a date from a backup and restore the missing file easily and quickly. One of the best things about Druva is once its set up, it needs next to no maintenance. You can leave it to take its back ups and you only access it when you need to retrieve files or to do some checks.
  • The volume of data that is backed up
  • How very little maintenance is required. Once Druva is setup, it can be left to do its own thing.
  • The analytics shown on the Druva dashboard. They are very useful.
  • It takes quite a few clicks and navigates through a fair few screens to actually get to restoring a backup. Might be nice to select everything required for a restoration on one view?
We've had a few instances where a staff member lost a client email. Thanks to Druva, I located the missing email and restored it to the mailbox in less than 10 minutes.

We use Druva Data Resiliency Cloud (Druva Phoenix and inSync) for all of our server and end point backups. We use both File/SQL backups on our servers as well as full VM replications. We also have Druva Phoenix linked to our AWS account and have DRaaS setup in case of an on-site disaster. We also have all 450 of our company laptops backed up with inSync. Both products have worked really well for us over the past 8 years.
  • Weekly email reports showing successful backups as well as any alerts
  • Easy to navigate portal to view all servers and endpoints
  • Great account reps that check in with you regularly to make sure everything is going well
  • Would like to have the ability to backup Active Directory directly
It's great for eliminating on-site backup hardware and storage. It's very scalable to accommodate any growth in servers, endpoints, and storage.

We initially contracted Druva for device backups. Once that was implemented and successful we moved to backup our cloud apps i.e M365 backups with Druva. We also did add ransomware features and additional storage with them.As of today we have created multiple instance of Druva to manage our multiple departments. This division helps us address billing concerns and budget issues well
  • Backup and Restore
  • Unified Management
  • Cyber Resiliency and security
  • Global De duplication
  • Cloud first approach
  • PST file restores when it comes to End point backups
  • Possibility of Unlimited storage
  • Certain folders in Recovery items are not backed up
As of today we haven't had any major ransomware attack or issues where Druva has stepped in to help us. However on the day to day basis we see that the backups are going on smoothly and whenever we have tried the restore that hasn't caused any issues either. In the Device backups we did realise that PSt files restore sometimes takes longer to restore. However we moved our emails to the Cloud app backups and that issue seems to be resolved

We use Druva Data Resiliency Cloud for our Endpoint and SaaS apps backup, both for users working from and remote locations. It helps secure our data across all our devices and user mailboxes without any issues. Druva Data Resiliency Cloud also makes sure we don't need to monitor our backup status every single day since a lot of the stuff is taken care of by the software itself.
  • The immutability and safety of backups is a good touch.
  • The Support team works around the clock so our Support tickets are always attended to in time.
  • The AWS cloud provides additional multi layered protection.
  • The Advanced Ransomware protection could be added to more workloads.
  • Some legal holds data takes slightly longer to download.
  • Minor GUI bugs occur occasionally.
Druva Data Resiliency Cloud is well suited in my opinion for backing up laptops, mobile phones and tablets. Along with that we have never faced any major issues backing up any user mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint or any other components of our SaaS use case either. Maybe it is less suited for customers that are quite price consious or aren't willing to switch to the cloud.

Druva Data Resiliency Cloud assisted us and our customers in achieving offsite, immutable air-gapped backups, which were required for Cyber Insurance purposes.
  • Easy to setup
  • Ease of use and management
  • Reporting and alerting
  • I think reporting could be improved
  • Native Azure support
  • I believe the UI could be improved, although this is constantly being refreshed
Druva Data Resiliency Cloud is an easy to use product that "just works'. To me it is a configure and forget suite of products. I think it is well suited for the protection of virtual workloads on VMWare, Hyper-V and AHV. In addition, to File servers and NAS appliances. In my opinion, it is not the best product for physical workloads, as image based backups are not supported.

We utilize Druva Data Resiliency Cloud to back up all of our laptops as well as our file servers, VMWare servers, and Office 365 products, like Teams and email. This solution allowed us to back up all of our critical production data while being in a single platform that is easy to use and covers all of our disaster recovery and data protection needs.
  • Laptop backups
  • File Server backups
  • VM Server backups
  • Server Restores
  • Cost savings for long term clients
  • Automation and notifications around cold and hot storage and recommendations to save space
  • Phoenix credits are hard to monitor
It is great when we are replacing a laptop that is fried. The end-user experience is seamless. Restoring servers that have blue screens or are unavailable is quick and painless. Initially, the backup solution in place is less capital spend, however, the expense of labor and overhead time to manage other backup solutions makes the Druva Data Resiliency Cloud solution an easy decision.

We use Druva for backing up our M365 environment. Our business problem was that we didn't have a valid backup and recovery landscape for our M 365 users, and that's where Druva came into the picture and helped us from the very beginning.
We have been incredibly happy and the solution works as we expected.
  • We like the option of downloading backed up files both individually and as a group.
  • The ransomware protection is a security feature that puts our minds at ease when it comes to the safety of our data.
  • The Customer Success team does frequent reach outs and technical health checks.
  • Sometimes some special firewall policies need to be created to give access to the Druva backups and restores.
  • Some ransomware features aren't available as in-depth for some workloads as they are for the others.
  • Sometimes there are bugs that come up during importing of users from SCIM.
Druva is a definitely well suited for backing up SaaS apps; both mailboxes and other information in the cloud. I would highly recommend it for teams looking to go completely on the cloud instead of keeping all data on-prem.
Less suited for teams that don't necessarily wish to utilize the cloud.

We use Druva for client and SaaS backups, it addresses the problem of hiring too many IT employees in our team to manage our backup and protection landscape.
It helps us not keeping storage on any hardware that we have to manage ourselves; we just back the data to the Druva client and it sends it to the secure AWS cloud.
  • The dashboard is intuitive and easy to manage and navigate.
  • It takes very little bandwidth and internet speed to perform both restores and backups.
  • The tech support is available any time of the week, even on off days- so we always get help whenever we require it.
  • Multiple ways of importing users into the Druva platform is impressive and afford flexibility.
  • Advanced Ransomware Recovery doesn't work for all Druva offerings, that would be a great feature to have.
  • The archiving feature could also offer more price flexibility.
  • Seating up the initial configurations can be a little tedious due to the length of the documentation involved.
Druva is a nice fit for IT teams looking to spend as little time as possible on managing their backups once the initial implementation of backup policies has been performed, it is pretty much a plug and play solution.

Less appropriate maybe for use cases where you don't need the data exiting your office building for compliance or related purposes.

We use Druva Data Resiliency Cloud for backing up our Endpoints, Cloud Apps along with the virtual environment workloads. Our users keep deleting stuff on accident so Druva Data Resiliency Cloud helps against that, along with keeping any physical and archival drives. It also helps us have good protection against ransomware and other malicious attempts on our IT infra.
  • It doesn't require a lot of bandwidth or additional resources for either backups or restores.
  • It is easy to implement, the Endpoint and VM clients work flawlessly once set up.
  • The Geofencing functionality makes sure that certain backups can be restored from any remote location.
  • The FRQs are also looked into in-depth.
  • There's no option to delete the most recent Phoenix backups, which can be a little bit of an inconvenience at times.
  • The configured VMs aren't listed in the alphabetical order, which can be fixed.
  • Some backups need to manually being led through the firewall.
It is a great solution for organizations looking to store data on the secure AWS cloud. For our hybrid workloads, Druva Data Resiliency Cloud also offers a nice long term retention policy for data that we don't need retrieved anytime soon, making the solution simpler.

Being 100% cloud only, it is excellent for companies looking to go completely virtually hosted.

The Druva cloud is backing up our hybrid workloads- we use it for our VMWare, NAS, SQL and physical windows (File Servers) protection.
It has been a good experience where both our virtual and physical machines have been implemented without any major concerns.
This has exponentially improved the quality and speed of our backups, we're extremely happy with our decision.
  • We are able to back the files up both individually and at a group level.
  • The Druva UI frequently gives updated reports and credit consumptions-related data
  • The Support team is 24/7 and easily accessible.
  • The AWS cloud is secure and works well.
  • An option to delete the most recent snapshot would be be great.
  • The Phoenix credit consumption model is a little difficul to understand at first.
  • Some cosmetic bugs related to the GUI.
Druva is a great suit for our both on-prem and virtual machines. I would strongly recommend it for any vendors who wish to be hands off when it comes to implementing their backup policies and keep an efficient environment.
It also works excellently with open APIs already implemented in the current IT landscape.

We use Druva Data Resiliency Cloud extensively for both the Phoenix and Insync offerings. It is our primarily solution for our backups, immutable air-gap, and disaster recovery. My company's expectations of labor hours saved, level of customer service, and the feeling of total data security are all met through what this company provides.
  • Responsiveness to help requests.
  • Unprompted cadence from the Customer Success team to make sure we're utilizing our investment efficiently.
  • Long term retention policies to help us save money by moving data in AWS Glacier storage tier.
  • In depth documentation to implement and try demos.
  • Azure as a VM would be a great feature to have.
  • Some app aware backups are missing for the Phoenix workloads.
  • It would be easier on the eyes if they implemented a dark theme to their website.
Druva Data Resiliency Cloud works great in multiple situations: We use it extensively as our Disaster Recovery solution primarily, along with for data backups.
It is a great solution for any vendor not looking to host their data within the company premises.
One scenario where Druva Data Resiliency Cloud would be less appropriate would be vendors who have a big IT team that is happy to manage data backups and daily admin tasks themselves.

Druva product is easy to use. the CSM team has been very helpful in driving usage. It provides a single pane for all our backups. Great product. We have been using it for our laptop and mobile device backup purposes. It is being used across the whole organization. It addresses one of our prolonged business issues of data loss due to theft or hard disk failure. We are now also considering them for our hybrid workloads backup
  • Ease of use
  • SIngle Pane view
  • knowledge and help provided by the CSM and Tech support teams
  • The user can recover the data independent of the admins
  • Admins can control the type of privileges user can have
  • PST files take a long time to restore. If interrupted the process starts from the beginning
  • NO user specific access control when multiple regions are being backed up . For servers
  • Last version 7.2 had errors that stopped our backups
there was a time when a critical Cxo user lost his laptop we were not only able to remotely wipe the laptop of all confidential information but also track the estimated location of the laptop. We recommend, implement, manage and support Druva for our customers. We selected this solution over other as it is flexible for all modern customer needs. The price point and pricing model is best for all customers along with no hardware costs for a solution allows them to consume the service in line with other SaaS products.
  • Immutable storage
  • Ransomware Protection
  • SLA driven policies and outcomes
  • Excellent interface and dashboard
  • Easy to deploy
  • Stronger level of Azure and AWS configuration backup required
  • Self Service end user portal in 365 is functional but could look better
  • AHV support is available but on occasion new version release was a couple of weeks behind
Druva is suitable for all workloads. The solution is best when you need to protect on premise workloads and you are intending to move to cloud. If you have small volumes of data at remote sites the hardware-less approach gives the best value for money. Druva is highly capable of backing up large NAS workloads in a quick and efficient manner. It can be less appropriate for HyperV if you are also looking to leverage the DR capabilities of the product

Druva is very strong in both the security of the platform and it's ability to protect cloud SaaS workloads such as M365. The whole design of Druva lends itself to a security first approach with design decisions such as air-gapped storage in the Druva cloud powered by AWS. We use Druva to backup all of our on prem vsphere infrastructure. We had a local disaster recovery facility, but it also meant managing two data centers which with our needs was really expensive. We searched for several solutions, and Druva was the simplest software that we had found that didn't require any on prem physical device to be able to perform backups.
  • Building out the backup policies and schedules is super simple
  • On prem setup for making connection to cloud instance is simple and intuitive
  • Being able to have an all in one solution to backup several products is a major plus
  • Iterface can be a little bit easier to navigate
  • Sometimes difficult to understand the credit system per TB of data
We had specific NIST requirements when searching for a cloud backup solution, and Druva met all the requirements. We needed a way to backup our data to a secure environment and multiple areas. If you need to backup different systems, virtual machines, email accounts, cloud environments, Druva covers all those solutions.
