We use Authpoint to better secure VPN for our remote staff, approximate 85% of our staff are remote and work from both home, client sites and Public venues. MFA is crucial if staff are working remotely. Authpoint was selected based on cost, ease of use and configuration, and overall compatability with our firewalls (Watchguard.) Though we use Office 365 and SharePoint intensively, we have specific internal apps that staff must use and specific data sets kept behind our firewalls that can only be accessed remotely when on VPN. Securing the connection is essential. Authpoint is an important part in our multi-layered desktop and communications security.
  • Works well with the free Authpoint client and the OpenVPN clinet.
  • Token management is simple and hosted completely in the cloud to reduce overall complexity
  • Setup was simple and and staighforward
  • Suppports several authentication methods we have used both RADIUS and SAML effectively, but ADFS, IDP, RDWeb, and RESTful API, and other custom apps are supported.
  • Geofencing for RDP has been very useful as it is independant of our firewall geofencing. This is quite useful for organizations like us who do not Geofence at at the firewall level so as to provide global access to resources on the DMZ.
  • Authpoint can integrate with other vendors firewalls, but this is not easily set up. The company could provide better support when customers who need to use a firewall from a third party vendor.
  • The Authpoint native desktop client can fail and need it processes killed at the OS level. At time only a restart can restore functionality. This occurs on about .05% of the connections
  • Thought the actual setup is fairly simple the documentation is mediocre.
Watchguard Authpoint is well suited to both small and large companies and scales well. It can be adapted to a number of token delivery methods, and mutliple methods (Push, QR code, OTP) can be used simultaneously to support users in different authentication contexts. The geokinetics function allows for real control of international travelers distinguishing them from random individuals using stolen credentials in random remote locations.

We use Authpoint as our Multi Factor Authentication. The problem this addresses is unwanted access from the public.
  • Easy to use interface
  • User Management is easily understood
  • users have adapted fairly easy not a lot of push back
  • Users complain that they have to authenticate multiple time on login. It should only be once.
  • Better user instructions on login screens, some users had trouble the first time logging in with authpoint
  • better Notification if tokens are out of sync or just can't be assigned to a user
I recently had the opportunity to explore WatchGuard AuthPoint, and I must say, it stands out as a robust and user-friendly authentication solution. Any company that has a need for MFA, this is a great product. It is very easy to manage users and create and remove tokens for each account. If you are familiar with Active directory, it syncs seamlessly with all your users.

We integrated the product with our Active Directory for a Single Sign-on environment. The integration was seamless! We use if for out of office users to connect to our internal network via VPN. This provides us a great level of security. And paired with the AuthPoint app. We have enable Multifactor Authentication. Providing peace of mind.
  • VPN
  • Single Sign on
  • MFA
  • Maybe some instruction on how to Change the VPN password once it changes in Active Directory
ease of use, easy to manage, easy to deploy. Great Product!

We are always looking for way to improve our security stack for ourselves and for our customers. Making the move to Authpoint was a no-brainer. This has been a great product allowing us to keep all of our firewall interactions for VPN and administration safe and secure at all times. The best part is that unlike some of the other apps out there, it provides a simple one-push confirmation pop-up. This feature makes it extremely user friendly so that anyone in the organization can use it regardless of their technical expertise.
  • MFA
  • quick push notifications that don't delay
  • keeping security at the forefront of our network models
  • single sign on capability
  • I have yet to find anything
  • this product already works great
  • it does exactly what it is intended to do and does it well
  • I would like to see an option for more of the fields to populate across different feature segments when programming
The Watchguard Authpoint is always used by us on every single one of our Watchguard deployments. We use the Firebox as our standard for the vast majority of our customers, as well as in our own offices. This product allows for the easy deployment, reliability, security, and customization we demand from every solution we implement. The user friendly app makes it a great solution for all users in an organization regardless of technical skill level. Security is paramount, but users have to WANT to comply. Some similar apps on the market make it more challenging or intimidating for some users.

We're using the software across the whole company and customers. It's used to secure our user VPNs and the access to our networks. Employees that have access to many resources in our company need to authenticate with two-factor. The first factor is the username and password and the second one is the token from WatchGuard AuthPoint.
  • Can manage multiple SAMLs and other services that support two-factor authentication--one app for many services.
  • WatchGuard AuthPoint can be used for many or all services from WatchGuard appliances.
  • The software is useful for companies that have already WatchGuard products in use but also for someone who only wants a fast and secure token for securing web logins.
  • Authentication on Windows servers and PC.
  • Management is confusing if you never worked with WatchGuard Cloud.
WatchGuard AuthPoint isn't useful if you want to secure your on-premises servers or client computers. You can use it to provide an additional security layer for logging in on a PC. But if you already are logged in, you can't authenticate with two-factor for tasks that need admin privileges (UAC in Windows). It is very useful for logging in on websites that support two-factor, like Facebook, WordPress, or programs like Battle.net. It's also very useful to secure your mobile user VPNs.

We use it for our staff to access the company network and also sell it to our customer so they can use it to access their company networks.
  • Simple to use for MFA
  • Easy to integrate with Windows login for RDP
  • good documentation
  • integrates well with lots of other systems
  • maybe a feature to alert the system admin when your having a problem with your token
  • some how make it easier for end users to move mobile phones
the AuthPoint MFA allow for increased security the following Remote access - easy to link to WatchGuard devices to set up remote access, providing an extra layer of protection when logging in. Also easy to use to control RDP to workstations or server, again providing an extras layer of security to the Logon. Having the mobile phone authentication allows end user to have something as well as know something .

It is used at our own organization and at multiple customers. We like how easy it is for the users to use the MFA application. It is a very stable solution to manage. As an MSP you get a dashboard with all your customers in one place. Very easy to maintain and to set it up!
  • Push Notifications
  • Protection of Windows and mac computer with Logon app
  • Easy of use for IT administrators
  • Ability to convert service provider accounts back to normal customer accounts
  • The ability to disable the change 6-digit passhprase when users only use the push option
  • The ability to brand the app to own color/logo
It is easy to set up and use when you want to protect a customer from external access with Multi Factor Authentication. When you have a WatchGuard as a firewall it is easy and possible to connect the WatchGuard directly to AuthPoint. It also connects with Azure AD if you have a customer which doesn't have an on-premise server.

Use WatchGuard AuthPoint to provide 2FA authentication for workstations, and remote services. Use this across a wide range of clients and their devices. Great way to secure a device where you need 2FA. You can use both physical tokens and mobile tokens thus allowing flexibility for users.
  • Ease of use
  • Physical Tokens
  • Managabilities of users between clients
  • Putting users into bypass mode so if they aren't setup or are using a device that may not need them to authenticate.
We have mobile devices that are needed to be secured in HIPPA compliance based areas. It allows us to have more security than your traditional windows password.

We use Authpoint at various sites for adding MFA to applications like remote desktop, PC Login, and Email access. It does a good enough job, and users are generally able to self-enroll and use it without much issue. The one fatal flaw is that it does not support standard OTP generation, so we are unable to add it to our third-party password/login management solution. That means for all the techs that support the site, there is one shared login on one phone. If that person is unavailable, we are unable to access the site.
  • Ease of use.
  • Lots of options for application support.
  • Integrates well with other Watchguard products.
  • Lack of OTP support.
  • Flexibility for non-standard AD integration.
  • Better documentation for third-party VPN integration.
Authpoint is great for a situation where each individual has their own login but for an outsourced IT department with an MSP, either each technician would need their own account (which raises licensing costs for the client) or the primary tech with the app will always need to be available for other members of their team to login.

I use WatchGuard AuthPoint as mfa for my vpn, it is more secure than use simple password. All my colleagues who use vpn, now needs to use a authpoint to securely connect to our environment. In the next day we will implement authpoint portal to share resource in a web browser. It easy to manage and configure, we use it with our domain server and of course with domain users.
  • securely connect to our environment
  • easy of use
  • a good secure portal to share app and information
  • the cost: better if there are no extra cost, included in watchguard
In the past we use another vendor, and connect in vpn using just user and password. Now we use a mfa solution from Watchguard, so the user must have the token, it is integrated with domain so I can manage user and vpn user from my ad, disabling and enabling user.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint to increment our security by adding two factor authentication to remote connections via virtual private network. It was recommended by a cybersecurity audit and, after analyzing different products, we went with WatchGuard to take advantage that we already had their firewalls in the company. Remote connections is critical and adding extra security to it was a must.
  • Protect connections
  • Protect end users
  • Protect the company infranstructure
  • Ease to deploy
  • The monitoring feature could be better
  • The user logging detail could be better
In our case, WatchGuard AuthPoint was perfectly suited because we already had Watchguard products in place thru out the company's infrastructure. With that in place, the deployment and testing of the tool was almost straightforward. Additionally, when obstacles were encountered, the support was always there to help. I was pleasantly surprised with all the implementation.

We seek to secure laptops against attacks and deploy patches in a semi-automatic way. We maintain the level of security in the accesses with an MFA.
  • Access control
  • Easy of deployment
  • Deployment flexibility
  • Right price
  • Implement external tokens
  • Implement MFA with coordinate cards
  • Possibility of deployment on-prem
It is appropriate in small or medium-sized companies. It is less appropriate in large companies with many users who do not want to use their phones for MFA.

Authpoint solved the problem, of being able to secure two-factor authentication without needing to use an internal LDAP servThe prncpal business need was to migrate users from standard authentication based on lognames and passwords stored on the firewall, to one with that offered greater security. By corporate policy, there was no option to delegate authentication to an internal LDAP server or Azure AD services.Authpoint solved the problem, of being able to provide the security of two-factor authentication without necessarily having to use an internal LDAP server or Azure AD.Ease of use and configuration are a plus of the product, minimal learning time for those who must then manage the service.
  • Ease of implementation
  • App compatibility even on older smartphones
  • Used with watchguard firewalls, it would be useful to have a multiple user creation system.
  • With some phone carriers, there is some latency, between logging in and the appearance of push confirmation on the app.
very suitable in all those situations for companies that do not want to use Azure AD, or manage SSLVPN user authentication on an internal AD. (An expired password would make access to corporate resources difficult).

With the increase in ransomware attacks on US based healthcare facilities, it is becoming harder and harder to protect patient data, and even get insurance without some form of multi-factor authentication protect. We selected Authpoint for our enterprise due to our familiarity with the Watchguard Firebox products, and Authpoint integrated seamlessly.
  • It protects our corporate VPN
  • It protects our Windows environment
  • It integrated using smartphones extremely easily
  • Be sure to count all users for licensing, even ones that may be exempt from your security initiative.
Authpoint is easy to integrate with an existing active directory infrastructure. I had it operational after the initial sales call in about an hour. The key to a successful implementation with staff is communication in advance of the rollout.

Multifactor Authentication for remote users
  • Fast, easy to use.
  • Watchguard is highly respected and credible with cyber insurers
  • Flexible configurations
  • Secure
  • Installation was a difficult because we have another Watchguard appliance (Firebox) and it conflicted with account credentials.
  • Help and support was lacking. We were assigned someone in Europe that was not online when we were. Also reaching WatchGuard was difficult. Companies should not insulate themselves from customers.
  • A bit expensive.
Cyber insurers are demanding MFA and AuthPoint is a robust enterprise type application that passes muster. Since many workers are opting for remote work, this is an ideal application to fulfill security requirements. Watchguard should, however make installation easier to cater to small business. Economics would suggest much higher revenues from this source because of higher volume of sales.

We have deployed AuthPoint to protect our business on several vectors. Currently we're using the system to protect laptops and desktops that are deployed in the field, sales locations, work from home, and our offices. The implementation will include protecting logins to our servers, a Remote Desktop Web portal, and Office 365. Having AD in an Azure Hybrid environment does allow us monitor and control logins, but the AuthPoint system allows us to further protect user logins from a compromised password.
  • The tokens are easy to deploy
  • Transferring tokens is a quick and intuitive process.
  • The system provides several fail safes for a lost token.
  • The AD synchronization feature is not in an intuitive place in the portal
  • There can be a delay in authentication if the PC hasn't been rebooted recently
  • The hardware token sold by WatchGuard are on the large side.
Small businesses that are leveraging cloud technology would see a great benefit in AuthPoint. Cloud based systems allow these businesses access to a more enterprise authentication, authorization, and accounting system, but also leaves that system vulnerable to cloud based logon attempts. Often these businesses do not employ full time IT staff or IT security staff and may lead to unsecured systems. AuthPoint can be utilized to prevent unauthorized access to cloud logins and protect local computer systems with a device most employees already carry.

The commercial problem that Watchguard Authpoint addresses are diverse, being among them, that it serves as a two-factor authentication token when users manage the passwords of their accounts; as well as it is useful as a security layer, for the VPN connections of the company's collaborators, since it generates a notification after the user establishes a VPN communication, where he must approve or deny said connection, by means of a received reception on his cell phone, in order to guarantee that the user who is in need of communication is the same one who appeared in the notification produced by the token.
  • Double Factor Authentication
  • Key or password generator token
  • I have no complaints with this product
  • I am more than satisfied with what I can do with this magnificent tool
WatchGuard Authpoint is suitable for any scenario, either as a key token generator to access systems or as a two-factor authentication token for VPN connections.

We use WatchGuard AuthPoint to gain access to our Network resources remotely. This provides an additional layer of security for our Administrators.

Due to the increase in ransomware attacks, our Administrators can rest easy knowing that the likelihood of false actors gaining access to our resources is slim to none.
  • Length of Passcode timeout.
  • Ease of installation.
  • User-friendly interface.
  • Sense of security.
  • Ability to save IP Address.
Well suited for users that need access to secure network files remotely. Ensures that only individuals with the proper credentials can gain access.

Users that have other means (Microsoft Products) to access same network files can circumvent the need for WatchGuard AuthPoint. Especially if using the built-in Microsoft Authentication. (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)

Authpoint is easy to set up and configure, very knowledgeable forum to help you set it up. All is managed through the cloud which is ideal for managing multiple companies.
It's a perfect solution for a lot of companies that don't have MFA on their VPNs, which is probably the most critical thing to have it on. Implementing this allows us to make sure our network is more secure from those remote locations.
  • Security
  • Easy Setup
  • Client ease-of-use
  • Would be nice to use another app for the 2fa
Some scenarios based on my experience where Watchguard AuthPoint is well suit would be remote working. If someone have a full domain with a file server it can be really beneficial to use AuthPoint as it adds an extra level of security for any company.
