- Page hierarchy
- Structure and UX
- Could embed videos better
- Allow for other image formats to be integrated into Atlassian Confluence
- Saving and publishing page can be fiddly
Conflicted on Atlassian Confluence
- Maintain historical links even if pages move
- Responsive
- Good Plugin infrastructure
- In my opinion, permissions model is unpleasant
- In my opinion, automation with anything that isn't an Atlassian product extraordinarily difficult
- In my experience, it doesn't support current standards very well (Markdown, importing HTML)
- In my opinion, search is almost useless
You should really use Confluence when you need a great compilation of documents to keep the trainning up to date!
- Maintain an awesome organization among all the documents.
- Easy to navigate.
- Great traceability.
- It has a huge storage space.
- I would like to manage development tickets on confluence so i wouldn't have to use 2 apps for it.
- It would be good if Confluence works as a box to storage all the documents.
- Are there any accounts for freelancers?
But you can't report defects with this when you're working with Jira for that matter, so you have to use both and keep them close.
Best knowledge management tool for IT industries
- Searching a topic
- Indexing of the topics
- Way we write, adding images, links, etc.
- Can it be integrated with MS Teams ? as we use MS Teams for day-to-day work-related communications.
- Can it automatically generate initial document for a feature with AI capabilities?
- Can we get text completion feature ?
Confluence is our go-to tool for documentation
- easy to create new documents
- easy to search documenation
- easy to setup simple navigationb
- easy to setup notifications for changes to the documents
- make it easier for new users to create new documents - simplify the interface for that
2. Good at restricting visibility to documents.
3. Good for search.
4. Good for easy navigating from one document to another document.
5. Good at setting up essentially a table of contents for your documentation.
Use Atlassian Confluence to scale your work, team, and organization
- Custom APIs with external software (i.e. Slack, Zoom, Salesforce)
- Customizable with custom fields, values, and calculations
- An entire suite of products to work in conjunction with our workflow (i.e. Status page)
- Certain integrations are a bit finicky and/or lag (i.e. Slack integration in particular takes a long time to transfer data from created workflows to appear)
- There is no auto refresh function so if my team and I are on the same document/ticket, we have to make sure one person refreshes first and then the other (so no one's work gets lost)
Always have options, But Continuos Improvement is the only successor of Atlasstian Confluence

Confluence for the Cloud not so hot
- Simple text entry
- Simple headings
- Simple connection via links
- Simple copy from other sites
- Pretty good search for pages
- Numbering sequenced lists with other content inserted - awfull
- Page layouts / columns very poor
- Styling restricted
- Expensive apps to do simple operations
- Word processing functionality next to zero
- Inflexible design
- Poorly implemented free apps
- Free templates poorly executed
- No search for out of date pages
Confluence at a glance
- Draw.io integration.
- Templates for different project artifact.

- Linking it to a specific Jira item.
- Linking to specific Bitbucket code commit.
- Real time collaboration and edit within teams.
Confluence! Great Choice:)
- A single place for all your documentation[.]
- Break down communication barriers[.]
- Reduce time-wasting context switching[.]
- Navigation. Similar to other Atlassian products, users have complained that aspects of Confluence are difficult to learn right away[.]
- An issue that users can face when using Confluence is attempting to edit a document while someone else is editing. Although users can access the document and save it, they are unable to see the changes happening in [real-time] that other users are implementing until they refresh their page. Some users have also noted that this can result in loss of edits.
- Another drawback of using Confluence is its specific organizational structure. All information is stored within one page or project, although the page is able to be broken up into sections, some users do not prefer this style. Users can use the ‘page tree’ on each page to organize the different elements of each project.
Confluence on info
- Search function.
- Editing capabilities.
- Nesting pages.
- Have search results sorted by something like page views or accuracy to search terms.
- Images within a page size automatically without its own scroll bar.
- Same with tables, have it able to size automatically (responsive) without its own scroll bar.
Confluence is a tool for companies that are growing and require good administration of their knowledge
- Create, Edit and Organize pages
- Create Organized Calendars
- Confluence [is a]easy tool to create polls
- For those who follow the SCRUM methodology, Confluence has everything you need
- The user profile can be improved for a most modern looking
- It has a good search engine by syntax but no by context
Confluence - Good value, simple to use
- Numerous templates are available for different documentation needs.
- Linking documentation and issues is pretty seamless.
- Keeps documentation well organized and in a single go to location.
- Some of the components can be a little clunky to use and configure on pages.
- I've run into a few issues where edited pages refuse to publish and work is either lost or time wasted copying and pasting to a new document that will publish.
- Basic wiki features (connected content)
- Enterprise security and access control.
- Rich text editing.
- Support for code snippets and markup.
- A huge library of plug-ins
- Support for markdown is sorely missed by the modern software engineer.
- Better support for searching and discovery.
- Better support for collaborative editing of pages.
A wiki for enterprise that isn't Sharepoint!
- Document Collaboration
- Configurable Notifications for Spaces and Pages (when things get updated or comments added)
- Central resource for all documentation within a company
- Costs continue to climb for usage - Atlassian has recently announced dropping support of on-prem solutions and forcing people to adopt their cloud solution
- Segregated support - you may have to bounce between Atlassian support personnel and various plugin developers depending on what aspect of Confluence you need assistance with
- Limited mobile functionality compared to web-based
Fantastic product - forcing open communication
- Knowledge Management
- Multi user contribution
- All types of adding to support any business
- Templates to kick start usage
- User on boarding training would be cool
- It can be costly for larger companies
- DevOps documentation
- Project management documentation
- Meeting minutes allowing anyone access
- Shared agendas for meeting
- Comment and markup of resources
- Enables sharing and insights across different departments. Ability to see content in other departments.
- Ability for all users to have public access to create their own content.
- The features to embed different pages or documents makes it easier to remain in confluence and not have to toggle to different applications.
- At times the tool is not always user friendly and intuitive
- Building pages can often require a deeper understanding of more technical skillsets like HTML to build pages that display nicely
- More documentation on building out pages would be helpful when it comes to building more advanced pages
Great enterprise software
- Documentation
- Repositories
- Internal Announcements
- It can be a little clunky to navigate
- Some of the formatting options are difficult to use.
Personal Repository for an Organization
It is used in sharing documentation ,sops, dashboards, excel sheet etc with concerned teams or person.
Atlassian confluence solves the main problem of storing and accessing the documents from single source instead of creating copies to store as archives.
If some changes are there in any documents we use to create multiple copies to store everywhere. But after using confluence it is uploaded in single link and everyone can reach out to it. Thus saving time
- Single source for storing and accessing documents
- Easily connects with other atlassian software like jira. So one can raise ticket in jira and provide data in confluence
- Permission manage is good feature to hide or show files.
- Feed feature is good to keep up to date
- Search engine is not so great. Sometimes nothing appears in search.
- Preview of sheets lags. Can be improved
- Cam be difficult to understand and use at starting
I will not recommended confluence for those organisations who do not have any heavy documentations to share or small team as it can be solved with mails also.
Great knowledge base and wiki place
- QUICK How-to Guides that can be generated and share instantly
- One can subscribe to the pages and spaces and receive updates in the feed on their home page
- Automatic Email notifications of new updates in the Confluence area
- The platform integrates easily with other Atlassian platforms including third-party apps thus improving its reliability
- The web app has a tendency to be quite slow
- The export can only export as word or PDF. It would be great if it can also export as markdown.
- I wish the navigation were a little easier
- QUICK How-to Guides that can be generated and share instantly.
- Automatic Email notifications of new updates in the Confluence area
- Provides an easy at a glance view of the content similar to a book contents table
- Formatting text can be a challenge to new users.
- Functions great as a wiki
- Excellent repository for SOPs and attaching frequently referenced technical documents etc.
- Integration into JIRA if you use that for either project management or change control tracking
- Over the past 6 years the feature set has not significantly expanded
- Integrations with 3rd party apps (DropBox, Google Drive, Slack) is either through 3rd party plugins or rudimentary at best
- Frequent interface upgrades and complicated permissions settings makes getting new employees up to speed fiddly in some cases
Atlassian Confluence - One stop shop to find any content or information in the organization
- One can subscribe to the pages and spaces and receive updates in the feed on their home page.
- Searching the documents and content is efficient and one can make it more simple by adding labels to the content or pages.
- Access to a particular page or space can be managed and only certain people can be allowed to view or edit.
- The process to create pages and upload content is not that intuitive. It takes sometime for an user to get used to it.
- Search works well with labels but not able to search within the documents and content accurately.
- There is no way to export the documents to cloud storage solutions.
