In my company we use Quickbase to solve many real time problems. We implement different applications using Quickbase to maintain the data and use it in a relevant way. As it is a low code and no-code platform it is easy to use for both user and the admin. We can store and manage the data using different tables and reports. It is very easy way to get different kinds of reports based on the request. Just using few formulas and pipelines we can solve complex problem. Notification is another feature of Quickbase which is helping our company by sending emails and notifications on the time for customers

As a coding concern this QuickBase platform is the best used tool. Using notifications we can set the email when it is necessary, Pipelines will trigger as you set the rule. Access can be modified as roles. Records can be sorted and filtered with the conditions.

We utilize Quickbase in many situations, from simple forms to capture essential information and status updates to increasingly more complex systems that help connect different departments and condense daily operation KPIs into one automated report or dashboard. Quickbase helps solve communication breakdowns and minimizes the need to memorize information. Accessing the databases while on the road is highly beneficial and allows us to avoid relaying information over the phone and waiting until that department is within their working hours.
  • Transparency of updates, maintenance, and current server status.
  • Ease of application creation and their connections, both in and outside of Quickbase.
  • I generate reports with real-time data and can send notifications or subscription reports.
  • The new forms lack usability when viewing a linked record/report inside the form and then trying to edit that record/report.
  • Mobile App design and usability.
  • We are reorganizing steps within a pipeline. Sometimes, rebuilding the pipeline from scratch is more accessible, albeit time-consuming.
Quickbase is best suited for intertwining different processes. Rather than just having ten information silos acting independently, you can have the different processes pulling the relevant information from the others automatically, well, once it's built to do so. Anybody can learn how to make these applications and tables. Quickbase provides excellent learning resources through both Quickbase University and the new Qrew Community Forums, but you have to be willing to learn if you want to be able to build complex solutions.

We use Quickbase for many different reasons. It is easy to build applications for any issue you may face. We have created Ticketing Systems, Surveys, Workflow Tools, Reporting Services, and much more. The versatility of the product allows us to be creative with our solutions. But taking some of this work out of Ecxel spreadsheets, it has given us greater visibility into the data and we can't seem to stop finding use cases for it.

I really enjoy the flexibility that Quickbase has to offer. I love that the community is supportive and you can get a question answered day or night. The development team is forward facing and does not shy away from answering tough questions or taking feedback to heart. It seems as though their help desk is an afterthought and they prefer you go to the community for answers. Unfortunately, I have not found much luck asking for help through their online ticketing system. It would be nice if Quickbase owned their "Bugs" and publish them in release notes somewhere so that users don't waste time trying to fix something that is a known issue. It's a fine line and we all walk it, so publish a "Secret List" Otherwise, it is a solid product with very good uptime. It is evident that they are working every day to build a superior product and for the most part, it exceeds expectations.

Prior to using Quickbase, we were using a lot of Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Project) to help manage our resource, business and project requests for our contract. While those products were sufficient, they were not efficient.
Once we moved the major part of our contract into Quickbase, we have been able to link them together to track data better, create better reports at all levels, set reminders and notifications for teams and validate all requirements in one place rather than moving between systems and only having a partial picture at any given time.
  • Being able create apps that are tailored directly to your own use cases is huge. Quickbase gives you the flexibility and the tools to be able to create, link data and report on data in a ton of different ways for every level of user.
  • I love the Quickbase has the ability to create roles for users which allows administrators the ability to show/hide data down to the field level to make sure that only groups who have the need to know, have the ability to see.
  • Reporting is one other area that Quickbase truly shines. There are many different types of reports that a user can create themselves or have created for them that can be filtered, sorted or grouped depending on requirements. Quickbase also has the ability to display those reports on dashboards or homepages and send reports via e-mail as notifications, reminders or subscriptions.
  • Being able to build an app and change it on the fly is great but if there is a suggestion for Quickbase as a whole, it has to go into the queue for development just like all other software companies which sometimes can lead to a delay in efficient functionality, unless you find a workaround.
  • There are a lot of integrations that Quickbase has already created for pipelines but there are so many more that would be useful (top of mind would be links into shipping company programs to do real time data pulls for tracking packages).
I have not found a use case yet where Quickbase would not be a viable option. It is well suited to any scenario or business that could benefit from faster assignments, improved productivity, centralized data, improved utilization of assets or workflow automation. With its ability to lock down fields based on roles, there isn't a concern of users accessing data they should not be privy too (like financial data).

Our company uses QuickBase across the majority of our company/organization. It's been able to assist with better managing where our fleet equipment is, to assisting operations teams with better, more comprehensive tracking of work sites in real-time. Ultimately, it has helped move us away from using old, outdated Excel spreadsheets to track daily business operations, while being able to improve the end users' experiences. Previously, the spreadsheets would have to be checked out by each person who was working in that project, whereas now they can all access the project from wherever they are, and it also reduced the number of copies that were being saved locally back in the Excel days.
  • Their support team has a good record of listening to feature enhancements by their customers.
  • Their Empower gatherings provide great opportunities to hear from fellow customers, as well as hear about new product plans before they are published electronically.
  • They roll out feature enhancements in a timely fashion and allow early adopters to opt-in for these features to get familiar with them, as well as provide constructive criticism or praise accordingly.
  • Their lunch webinars are always very useful at showcasing upcoming releases as well as a way to easily interact with their product teams to get questions answered.
  • The inability to further customize the end users' ability to request app creation as an account administrator. The only way to currently turn this ability off is to remove a very useful portion of the product.
  • Sometimes, but not always, when a bug is noticed and brought to their attention, the communication of when the fix is deployed gets lost.
  • As an account admin/realm administrator, I've noticed that sometimes the navigation experience between the various areas of the product seems to function slightly different depending on which page you are on.
QuickBase is a great platform to use if you have multiple business units that operate similarly to each other. As long as the end users have Internet access, they'll be able to access the app within QB. It also provides for better versioning control, since users are able to save a copy locally, something that Excel falls short with. The rapid application development available within QuickBase is also one of its very strong points since the app builder can usually make form and report changes on-the-fly to accommodate the app owner's request. If you need a way to easily interface with workers running inventory within a warehouse or out in the field, then QB is certainly capable of answering that call.

QuickBase is being used as a rapid application development platform within our organization to automate a manual process or Excel spreadsheets requiring concurrent or workflow based usage. QuickBase is being used across multiple domains including hospitality, learning, HR, sales, project management etc. The biggest problems that we've been able to solve with QuickBase is to reduce time to market for our client's ever-changing requirements as well as reduce maintenance costs and effort especially the effort and cost to maintain servers.
  • You can go on to develop an end to end interactive application without writing a single snippet of code. You can do this in quick turnaround (the baseline setup can be built in a few hours). This includes creating forms, fields, validations, user roles, role-based dashboards, notifications, reminders, SSO, as well as reports. QuickBase is extremely easy to learn and in most cases you don't even need the first lesson to get going on the platform and build something useful out of the system.
  • QuickBase offers more than 800 different applications set up as vanilla apps which can be reused to our advantage.
  • 1 user license can be used against [any] number of applications in the same instance. This has given us the power to develop a complete enterprise fleet for applications for ourselves and our clients using QuickBase.
  • QuickBase lacks language support which has been a limiting factor for many of our applications/clients to use QuickBase. To be a global player, QuickBase needs to focus on this capability at the least.
  • The UI of QuickBase many times limits the usage of the product as a front end tool. It is considered a back-end operations tool rather than something which is beyond any bars. The Mercury UX platform had been discussed for more than 2 years now but it is yet to see daylight. The UI lacks class and many times fails to impress the audiences.
QuickBase is well suited for any back operation automation. Transforming/automating an existing Excel operation is ideal using QuickBase. When you've need to create a lot of charts, metrics, and analytics, I would recommend using QuickBase. You can also use the platform for creating a fleet of connected enterprise applications. QuickBase works really well with connected/integrated QuickBase applications. I however, will not recommend using QuickBase when you need to perform a front end operation such as a need for an HR portal or case management front ends. At present, QuickBase doesn't allow the creation of jazzy UI with its out of box features while the jQuery, scripting custom pages often suffer with performance issues when large data sets are involved.

I use Quickbase to replace old disparate processes. I have developed a variety of applications that have replaced a lot of business processes, and a lot of paper. The scope is whatever the Executives want me to work on. Currently, we are releasing a Timesheet App to our Field workers (over 1,200 union electricians). At which point, it will cut down on payroll processing time, because currently our payroll department has to collate over 100 Excel files.
  • Adaptable - You can make changes in a matter of minutes without having to redeploy the code to every machine in the company.
  • Speed of development - I can get very complex business processes developed and deployed in hours, days, weeks, or months rather than in years.
  • Pipelines - still break when you change a field name inside of Quickbase settings, and the search functionality took a hit inside of the new designer.
  • New Forms - does not have parody with the old forms, but became the default. Biggest things for improvement are, searching for other records inside of a record picker, certain records are not selectable inside of a record picker, the child record report link buttons do not function properly, and you can't print the form.
  • "Enterprise-only features" - Specifically what they call the "Advanced Security Features" - They have begun releasing items inside of their top plan tier only. Several of these things are just basic things like knowing the field types and other things that I haven't really cared about. However, in several of these "Advanced Security Features" they display it to the realm administrators and say that you can't use it because you don't pay them enough. The setting in this case leads to clutter and confusion for the general user population at any company that doesn't pay for their top plan tier, and that is unacceptable. It also is a huge slap in the face of myself and other beta testers who requested the ability to hide it months ago, and they released it this month behind that paywall.
  • Mobile App - The mobile app is lacking in capability and needs a lot of work. I was hopeful with the acquisition of FastField, but that hope is fading with these "Enterprise-only features". It seems that they are not going to continue to invest in developing their mobile app, and have parody with their web experience has not occurred since it was released. FastField was going to enable them to take a huge leap in the mobile space, but they seem to just be running it separately.
I no longer think that Quickbase is the way of the future. They do not fix major bugs in a timely manner, and are releasing basic functionality behind a paywall. I believe that Enterprise Level Tier should be given certain things, like SLAs on Support and up-time. However, as a low-code no-code platform the majority of the accounts, "builders", and users are not going to be able to justify the cost of an Enterprise Tier Plan, and won't be able to use the features that Quickbase continues to advertise.

When we're trying to get info from other departments in order to do our daily work, we tend to use email. But it seems we're constantly replying to those emails asking for more detail needed to complete tasks. This is where we need to pause and ask if there's a better way. The answer is Yes there is. It's Quickbase! With how easy it is to create a tool (with no coding experience) that captures everything you need onto one form with built in rules that prevent users from being able to save and close a form without the info you need, there's no excuse to NOT turn to Quickbase. And for those who keep every email they've ever sent or received, they're in luck. Quickbase can email you with notices of what was put in and actions others took.

  • I'd like to see a link on email notices that take you directly into said notice. On an app that only has 1 or 2 email notices firing, there's no issue. However, we have some tools that are so complex that they have about 20 email notices firing at any given time based on the action users take. In this case, if we have to go in to modify a notice, we have to guess or scroll down the long list of notices to see which one we need to customize. It would be great if Quickbase had the URL of said notice somewhere at the footer of that notice so when Administrators click on it, it takes them into the exact notice they need to update.
  • When filling out or reviewing a lengthy form, I'd like to see the Save & close button, as well as a Save & next option at the bottom of the form rather than having to scroll back up to the top of those forms just to click on those choices.

I work with multiple Quickbase applications in my project, and each application has its own business use case; some are under finance, some are unser user issues tracking, and some are in the banking sector.
  • Pipelines, creating updating is soooo easy.
  • Codepages so that we can convert any complex operations that are not there in Quickbase, but these code pages are add-ons for sure.
  • Obviously Quickbase formulas which makes the fields flexible.
  • Simplifying webhooks.
  • Optimizing complex formulas so that there should be no errors like "Formula execution took too long".
  • Pipeline divisions, that is, there should be options like we have three environments: dev, UAT, PROD so that pipeline should have an option that which is for which rather than tags.
Finance related to keeping track of users or customers on their applications, as well as for billing in restaurants, shopping malls, and groceries.

We use Quickbase to simplify many of our manual processes. Everything from inventory to our operational excellence program is built in Quickbase, and there are no limits. There has never been a time when I wanted to build something but couldn't do it. Projects that we formerly had to work with IT or Digital services on can now be created and maintained locally.

  • Pipelines could be made a little easier for new developers, but they aren't difficult once you get the hang of it.

We used Quickbase for our project management related activities, it is simple and very easy tool. Quick base gives us a clear qnd overall view or each and every project. It also shows and finds the comments if any we have added for the reference which puts the Quickbase as one of the top software for such activities.

The company uses Quickbase to collaboratively view and compile data. This could be flight activity, crew utilization, finance, and operations. The software allows ease of standardization, organization, elimination of duplicative data entry, and complete control over workflow design. I have personally used it to standardize many forms, organize messy data, and to operate as an effective notification system in multiple areas. The simplification of the formulas has allowed someone like me, techy but with zero computer science education, to become among the most proficient in the company in one year. There is almost no limit to what Quickbase can do, so it often means there is more than one way to solve your problem.

  • Rich text syntax guide - I've had to google search and pick apart previously written syntax to understand and learn how to use quickly

Quickbase has proven that if it's in a spreadsheet, it really should be in Quickbase. One of my more recent achievements with the program was redesigning our current process for notifying management of something irregular. The old process had all the notification infrastructure built behind the scenes with only a handful of people knowing and understanding the process. The new process was able to clean up the behind-the-scenes and also provide an increased level of intuitiveness by allowing complete visibility and customization of notification recipients. This allows the initial notification to reach a select number of management individuals who can then decide whether or not it needs to be escalated, all while allowing the operations personnel to get back to work immediately.

The biggest issue I've found with the program is the limitation of the user - I find that the biggest roadblock in my way is myself, as I am confident the program has the ability to accomplish what I need, but am I skilled enough to create it? This has helped me become very proficient in only one year of use and become more active in community engagement surrounding the program.

Quickbase is of great value for us and we primarily use Quickbase as a project management solution and a low code application and pipeline building solution. With the help of Quickbase, we build ticketing systems for our website to monitor the promotions and also we use it as a content administration tool. The dashboard and analytics are also of great value for us as we get very indepth and insightful data.

  • Building pipes needs to be more streamlined
  • User information addition is quite simple with Quickbase
  • Streamlining product data is very much straighforward. We get a central repository with Quickbase

I have had a very good experience with Quickbase so far. The ability to manage different projects and easily distribute tasks among different teams is very well suited with Quickbase. There is an improved visibility in terms of project management which is helping us streamline our tasks in a better way. Also, the order management reports and dashboards are very extensive and helpful for us.

Quickbase addresses challenges in project management, workflow management, and implementing a multi-approval system, which greatly benefits us.

Quickbase is used as an extension of current enterprise systems to provide a more flexible workflow for items such as forecasting, capital planning, budgeting. Other use cases include asset management and evaluations where off the shelf software is difficult to integrate or report through or customizations aren't feasible. Additionally Quickbase is used to replace Excel/PDF based workflows that were traditionally handled/communicated via email, where the value add in Quickbase is to provide a single source for entry and reporting. These processes have been replaced with comprehensive workflows for approvals, reminders and alerts while also providing clear history and tracking for audit that was otherwise not possible without Quickbase.

Quickbase is well suited for workflow driven processes/applications of all cases in all industries. I would advocate that with the proper design and planning almost any use case/scenario can be achieved and improved upon through a Quickbase implementation. However, Quickbase should not be used in place of highly controlled/rule based systems such as Accounting, Payroll, Inventory Management etc. These types of highly transactional / complex rule based systems are best suited for pre-built / pre-defined systems based on industry best practices that are already baked in. Quickbase is a fantastic system but provided that it is a do-it-yourself system, everything is effectively a ground-up build of an application and systems that require immense subject matter expertise and focus can be difficult to implement.

Quickbase helps users to keep track of their projects. Mainly, it helps us provide the users with their relevant access to the project. The platform has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to set up the applications with the proper features. As well as the Quickbase community also provides the help needed when facing any issues.
  • Mainly, it provides a lot of customization options.
  • Also, Quickbase provides the option to grant a deep and wide variety of permissions to the end users.
  • The resources provided by the community are good, so we can utilize these resources for building the solutions.
  • At some point, I feel there is a performance degradation, so it may reduce the speed of the app.
  • There is a lack of support when it comes to the advanced development features.
  • There is no option to add CC or BCC people for the notification. This option should be provided.
Quickbase is well suited for variety of applications like if I mention it is well suited as custom database application, collaborative project management, resource tracking applications, etc. I feel it is not well suited for the real time data processing, custom coding applications because there is limited offline capabilities. It need internet connection for most of the features so it may not be good for offline capability applications also.

We sell and install residential solar power systems throughout the United States. There are many steps to successfully manage these Projects each with its own unique datapoints, workflows and metrics. Quickbase enables us to customize our app to fit our unique business needs, without the necessity to write lots of code. We are able to pivot when necessary and quickly test new ideas. We define our own workflows, instead of relying on an inflexible pre-built "solution."

  • Ability to handle larger datasets which tend to struggle in the 1 million record range
I'd say Quickbase will work well for most smaller to medium sized businesses. We've build workflows for each department in our company for our Team to accomplish their goals. This includes end-to-end processes to manage projects, from a list of things to get done, the status of each item, and benchmarking against performance (SLAs). We then put these things together into nice dashboards so each department has a central hub where they can focus the attention.

Things start to fall short when dealing with volumes of records (1M+) or heavier API traffic.

Quickbase is leveraged to to handle process workflows such as work orders and ticketing to Project management tracking. It's used by multiple departments across our organization allowing them to pass information across groups in real time for better collaboration and transparency. It's also used for reporting metrics on how the business is performing in these areas. Everything is in real time and there is no delay or need to schedule reports which enables decisions to be made in real time as well

  • Lack of use reports (getting reports on how much of your contract you've used)
We have people that schedule customer visits from the office and then field employees that go out and complete those visits. Quickbase has allowed the people in the office to see where jobs are located, the tasks associated with those visits and then assign them to field employees. For the field employees, they can use their tablets, phones or their computers to see their work orders, take pictures of work completed and update the information on that work order and its all done in real time. This has been critical to allowing us to know what's happening in the field and if a customer calls wanting information, we have it available in the office as soon as the field tech saves the record. Area's its not worked well is when its implemented to solve complex mathematical reporting for finances or other complex numbers where the numbers involved are vast. It can complete this with the right builder but it becomes very complex and would need someone well versed in Quickbase to maintain an application like this.

I use Quickbase to create specific applications related to the trucking industry. I have built inventory, Asset Management, Weight Tracking, and maintenance tracking applications.

We track our projects and work orders daily using Quickbase. It helps us to remain on track and focused, as well as to analyze data and help make decisions based on trends that we recognize using the reports.
  • Pipelines are very responsive and intuitive
  • Variety of report styles offered
  • Variety of homepage/dashboard customization available
  • Lessen downtime
  • Increase data transfer timing
  • Create built-in query formulas
I believe Quickbase is well-suited to track... things. Whatever it might be, it has made a tremendous impact to our ability to increase productivity and better yield.
